Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Riff and this website. Riff is a service of Whappa LLC ("we", "us"). By using Riff you agree to them.

The service

Riff answers a business's phone calls with an AI voice, asks questions, writes up the job (name, phone, address, problem), and books a visit. Text messages are covered on the Text messages page. How we handle information is in the Privacy Policy.

Pilot and demo status

Riff is a pilot. Features can change, break, or go away. The demo lines and trial numbers are for trying Riff, not for running a business on. Demonstrations simulate jobs and visits and do not book actual services. A demo business that nobody has claimed may be deleted after 30 days.

Availability and demo limits

We do not promise that Riff will be available at all times. A demo line takes one call at a time. Trial numbers last a short time and can be limited.

Acceptable use

Do not use Riff to break the law, to harass or deceive people, to send spam, or to attack or overload our systems. Do not try to get around demo limits. We may suspend access if you do.

Businesses are responsible for their own compliance

If you run a business on Riff, you are responsible for following the laws that apply to you. That includes telling callers that calls may be recorded. Riff includes a recording notice in the greeting, but you decide whether it is enough for your callers and your state.

Not for emergencies

Riff is not a replacement for emergency services. Do not use it for 911. In an emergency, call 911.

Warranty disclaimer

Riff is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Riff is an AI voice: it can mishear or get things wrong, so check the jobs and bookings it writes up.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Whappa LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost jobs, or lost data, arising from your use of Riff. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Riff in the three months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Changes

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here and change the effective date above. If you keep using Riff after that, you accept the new terms.
